The GRIMS is a simple to administer, 28 item assessment of the overall quality of the relationship between a man and a woman who are married or living together. It is a companion test to the GRISS and can be used together to pinpoint a relationship problem as either marital or sexual and to adjust therapy accordingly.

The GRIMS can be used to assess the efficacy of different forms of therapy or to investigate the impact of social, psychological, medical or other factors on a relationship.
